Sacred Gosaikund

Cradled among high rising mountains, the Gosainkunda lake, is revered by the Nepalese as one of the holiest site. Situated at an altitude of 4380 meters, it is one of the prime attractions of the trek.

Every August the lake is thronged by devotees who trek all the way to this lake to pay their respect and homage to Lord Shiva who is supposed to have created the lake. At other times the glacial lake remains placid and serene. The views along the route are simply breathtaking. The trek provides great views of Lantang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and Dorjee Lhakpa and host of other peaks as a blessing to the trekker for having made the trip.
