Restricted Area

The Nepalese Govt. has termed some trekking areas in Nepal as restricted due to their fragile eco - system so as to ensure less number of visitors to lessen the impact on the ecology of these areas and also due to the geo political location of some places. It is therefore necessary that a foreigner intending to trek in any part of the kingdom of Nepal specified as restricted will have to obtain a trekking permit from the Dept. of Immigration.

As per Govt. regulation a Liaison Officer, who is a representative of the Govt, is required for visiting these areas. A special fee is charged and a government appointed Liaison Officer escorts the group to make sure the trails and the area is trekked in an environment friendly way. Of course the whole crew and support team will be behind you to provide all the services. Places that fall under the restricted area are, Humla, Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpa.
